Great voice acting you do there!

I've seen your ad in the collab section and I'm wondering what you would need musicians for.

Considering your age this one is great! I was a bit surprised about the drop, that's not really Dubstep to me.

nikhoGD responds:

Thank you! I appreciate your opinion, any recommendation to improve is liked.

Even though I usually do not listen to Rap, I do like this piece. I can hear out stereo effects being used, which grants a better surround feeling, which I like very much.
I don't have anything against the voice. I do like the chorus effect being used, while it still sounds clear to me without any loss of quality.

As already mentioned by other people, please don't send the same private message to a dozen of people. At least do customize it.

Now you got the deserved 4 stars!
I really enjoyed all your recent works, all of them brought me to a different trip during the listen.
The combination of how you used the chords, and switch in between the moods, is very nice solved.
I definitely can see a big improvement from your old works, just alone the fact you are using multiple instruments now.

As I think you already are skilled enough composing lovely melodies, your next goal could be to improve your range of instruments from time to time. Adapting to your style, I think instruments such as an oboe, bassoon, horn, as well as bigger strings (cello;bass) would be quite nice to hear in the future. You could also try out percussion, be it drums such as a timpani, or a glockenspiel.

Strimlarn87 responds:

Thank you for that. I agree completely. Those are almost the exact thoughts that I've had in these recent times. In the future I will be studying more advanced works and I'm currently reading more about music. it might not be soon but sometime here in the future that I start making music with even more instruments. I kind of enjoy making music for a smaller ensamble though, so I might keep doing that for some time now.

Lovely! A simple, but good composition. Very dreamy, soft and calming.

There just is one thing I have to leave here. It's about the harp. It kind of plays the same notes, or even chord all the time. All I noticed is that the chord changes the height of the notes, but stays the same. I would have wished more variation for the harp, it more being alive, also playing different notes such as 16th.

There would be many other things I might talk about, but I see you still seem to be new at composing music (considering your joining date and submitted audio). So what you are doing right now, is more than alright compared to your experience. Keep it up! :)

I don't have too much knowledge about this genre. But the way it is solved, it's more than alright to me. I also like your style of rapping, I like listening to it.

Just one thing from my personal taste. I would try to make the song sound more surround. It can be done by playing with some of the instrument's/track's pan. I don't know which DAW you are using, but some also have FX plugins where you can spread the stereo, basically creating a surround effect.
But that's the only criticism.
The song itself sounds better than many rap songs I get to listen to nowadays. Keep it up!

Heyho!

Here's my feedback to the song:

The voice sounds very clear, sounds like a good microphone was used for the recording. The effects used on it are nice either. Considering this is a hiphop, there is much variation put in, which keeps the listener interested, which also is very positive.

About possible improvement: I'm not sure, but I think you only used one layer for the voice. It's very usual, that people put in double layers for the voice. Basically, you rap everything twice with the same speed and put both tracks together, one being the primar track and one the secondary. It adds more to the professional sound in my opinion. You should also play around a bit with the stereo, putting some instruments or tracks more to the left and others to the right.

Tip: You should add the tag "Trap" as well as I can hear out some elements of the trap genre.

Well done! I'm more into acoustic songs that contain real instruments, but I like this very much! It gives me a bit of nostalgic feeling as this reminds a bit of the Sims shop themes, or even the old Wii shop theme, when it comes to the atmosphere and melody.

Shufflehound responds:

Thanks! I'm getting more into acoustic stuff myself (with synths still), but keep an eye out.

Oh, I see we are moving at a higher, professional level of a composition.

5/5 rating for the awesome melody you composed. It was really exciting to listen to it and triggered me listening to the full length of the work.

Here are some tips and suggestions from my side for your future works:

- Since it is some kind of goal to make a soundtrack like that sound as realistic as possible, you should work more with reverb and hall effects. Imagine, that the orchestra plays in a really big concert hall, or score stage. If you play more with hall effects, the track will sound more organic itself.

- It sounds like you placed all played instruments in the center. You should inform yourself how an orchestral band is build-up and where the instruments are placed it.
You should put some instruments more in the side (left or right), to make your song sound more surrounding.

- You should try to separate first and second instruments. Put some instruments in the background and some other's in the foreground (solist instruments for example).

- This is a bit related to what I just said about the first and second instruments. Since you literally only used first instruments, the actionful part of the song went a bit noisy.

But in general, this one was very nice to listen and I give it a rating of 4.5

Omson responds:

Thank you very much for this detailed review! I guess you're totally right, I focussed on the melody so much I forgot the orchestral arrangement.. I will consider your tips in my future projects for sure :D

Rating 4.5 stars to this!
I really like the drops and the dub-sounds, they have been chosen, or created very well!
The only negative point I would have, is that I personally think, that the general melody is held too simply, it could deserve a bit more of variation.

However, I do vote 5 stars.

charliux210123 responds:

Thx dude
